Hyundai Motor Group has decided to collaborate with the UK artificial intelligence (AI) startup CuspAI to secure next-generation materials.

Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 6th (local time) that it signed a strategic partnership for material AI cooperation at the headquarters of CuspAI in Cambridge, UK. Key figures such as Park Cheol, Head of New Business Strategy at Hyundai Motor Group, Chad Edwards, CEO of CuspAI, and Max Welling, CTO, attended the signing ceremony.

The partnership aims to enhance material efficiency, durability, and stability, and to discover various new materials to innovate mobility solutions. Particularly, as the new research paradigm of 'AI for Science' is gaining attention across various industries, Hyundai Motor Group plans to strengthen its AI technology capabilities and accelerate the creation of research and development outcomes through this partnership.

'AI for Science' is a concept that maximizes the efficiency and innovation of scientific research using AI technology. It involves designing new material structures or protein sequences by learning vast amounts of data with AI. This new scientific and technological innovation approach can significantly reduce the time and cost involved in developing new materials or drugs, while expecting groundbreaking success rates.
