On the 26th, Pharmcle announced that it has obtained the ISO 45001 certification for the international occupational health and safety management system. With this achievement, in addition to the existing ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), it has become the first in the biocide manufacturing industry to achieve the 'ISO Triple Crown' by acquiring all three international standards. ISO 45001 is an international standard that systematically manages potential risks in the workplace to support worker safety and prevent industrial accidents.

Pharmcle has been continuously enhancing its production and operation systems, centered around the Hoengseong plant established in October 2022 to meet global standards. The ISO 45001 implementation project was initiated in August 2024, and the certification was obtained in about a year, marking a significant turning point in strengthening manufacturing competitiveness. The biocide manufacturing process is a high-risk industry that handles large quantities of hazardous chemicals and volatile organic compounds (VOCs, substances that can easily evaporate and affect humans and the environment), making the establishment of a safety management system crucial.

During the certification process, Pharmcle conducted a risk assessment of major processes such as production, experimentation, and packaging. Based on the results, the company improved the ventilation and exhaust systems, reorganized the personal protective equipment management system, and operated a work permit system (a procedure for pre-approving and managing hazardous work), thereby improving the overall working environment. The company explained that these measures have not only enhanced the safety level on-site but also contributed to improving employees' work efficiency and psychological stability, thereby strengthening the foundation for sustainable growth based on quality and environmental management.

Pharmcle has established an integrated management system encompassing Quality (Q), Environment (E), and Safety (S) based on ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001. These three standards share a common High-Level Structure (HLS), which is a common framework among ISO management system standards, allowing for the integration of document and record management, risk assessment, training, and internal audit processes into a single system.

A Pharmcle representative stated that these system improvements enhance the ability to respond to increasingly stringent domestic and international biocide regulations and serve as a foundation for building trust with clients and partners. It was particularly noted that this has a positive impact on expanding collaboration not only with major domestic manufacturers but also with leading global companies. The integrated management system is often used as a trust indicator in transactions with multinational clients that must simultaneously meet quality, environmental, and safety requirements.

Park Kyung-nam, Vice President of Pharmcle's Hoengseong plant, evaluated that the ISO 45001 certification has once again internationally recognized the integrated manufacturing operation system encompassing safety, quality, and environment. He stated that based on the ISO Triple Crown, the company will meet the high manufacturing quality standards demanded by domestic partners and global leading companies, and continue to expand product trust in overseas markets. He also added plans to continue innovation and advancement to set new standards in the biocide registration and manufacturing fields promoted by the Ministry of Climate and Environment.
